DTU Jobs and Careers

Two three-year PhD positions, funded by the Danish Research Council for Technology and Production Science (FTP) and DTU Chemistry, are open in the NanoChemistry Group at Department of Chemistry, Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

Brief description of the research project
The PhD projects will focus the research on chemical preparation and functionalization of graphene nanomaterials with the aim at fabrication of new types of chemical and biochemical sensors for various applications. The studies include wet-chemical synthesis of graphene, high-resolution structural characterization, post-functionalization, design and fabrication of chemical sensors and biosensors, and functional tests of the sensors.

Qualifications
You should have a master degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or physics. The candidates with research experience in chemical synthesis of graphene materials, atomic force microscopy, electrochemistry, and design and fabrication of chemical sensors and biosensors are preferred. You are also expected to have the ability to work independently for in research projects with complicated tasks possibly involved. In addition, good communication skills in both spoken and written English are a prerequisite.

Approval and Enrolment
The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.
