Course Content:
During a one-week course we want to introduce you to educational and cultural aspects of an academic career at the Carl Benz School of Engineering.
Not only will there be lectures and practical workshops lead by various specialists from several institutes of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), such as the Department of Railway Systems or the Institute of Production Development, but you will also have the chance to take part in challenging « hands-on » metalworking. In the Institute of Information Management in Engineering you can experience « virtual machine construction », and in the Research Centre here in Karlsruhe you will have the opportunity to learn more about « Robots in the Production Process ». Furthermore, you will meet members of the student team KA-RaceIng and work on a special construction task. Each year the team has the task to build, manufacture and service a single-seat formula-style racing car for the international student competition « Formula Student ». A visit to the world-famous Daimler AG will complete our academic agenda.
We kick off the leisure activities of our programme with a « Welcome Party » in the courtyard of the International Department. This event gives you the unique opportunity to experience international student life at the Carl Benz School of Engineering. A guided tour around Karlsruhe and a visit to the Palace Gardens will be organised to familiarise you with the city and German culture. We have organised two other enjoyable excursions near Karlsruhe: a visit to the Europapark in Rust and to a local go-kart course in Landau.
