This program starts in June 2012 for a duration of 3 years. The working languages are English or German. The PhD thesis can also be written in one of the both languages.

Requirements for Applicant

We are seeking highly qualified and motivated scientists and engineers. Candidates are expected to have a Master, a German Diplom or an equivalent degree, when they start their Ph.D. project. The specifics of the degree and the experience required are indicated for each of the projects listed in the call for applications. The integration in international co-operations requires the ability to cooperate in an international team, thus we expect good skills in the spoken and written English language.
Please note that applications for HITEC fellows are welcomed from any qualified applicants, regardless of gender, ethnicity or country of origin, but will only be considered if eligibility requirements are met and the application guidelines are strictly adhered to.
The best candidates will be invited to Germany for a week (April 2012) in order to work out the details of the project with the research group which hosts the project. The final decision of candidates/projects will be reached after individual presentations. The earliest starting point will be June 2012, later starts are possible. Payment of the PhD fellows will be based on the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service (TVöD).
