The position is part of a team of scientists working with membrane proteins, synthetic biology and metabolic engineering. A key objective of the PhD project is to develop new technologies to improve expression of multi-enzyme complexes in microorganisms. This is accomplished using a combination of biochemical and molecular methods such as GFP-based expression optimization and advanced uracil-excision DNA assembly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\nMasters in relevant field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are looking for highly motivated individuals with M.Sc. degrees in synthetic biology or related discipline. Candidates with some knowledge of genetic engineering of bacteria, DNA assembly, membrane proteins, fluorescence microscopy or FACS analysis will be preferred, but none of these qualifications are formal requirements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Approval and Enrolment<\/strong><br \/>\nThe scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU.
