At TU Dresden, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Institute of Communication Technology, the Vodafone Chair of Mobile Communications Systems is offering for immediate start a position as

Member of academic staff / PhD Student (E 13 TV-L)

fixed term for 2 years, extension planned. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG).
The research will be directed towards the design of spatial precoding filters in cooperative cellular multi-antenna systems. It will cover information-theoretic aspects, principles of system design and digital signal processing under hardware constraints. The research activities are embedded in the DFG focus program 1397 ´COIN – Communications in Interference Limited Networks´.
Tasks: Your research tasks will include development of spatial precoding algorithms, which are robust against impaired channel knowledge. The methods shall be designed for the application in cooperative cellular communications systems under practical requirements. The results shall be published at international conferences and in distinguished journals.
Working in an international team of experts, the researcher will get the opportunity to contribute to the development of next generation wireless systems, gain valuable project experience and connect to academia as well as industry partners.
