How to apply to the ZEF Doctoral Studies Program (Germany)

Drapeau AllemagneOnline registration: First of all you have to register online. During the online registration you will be asked to enter your personal data and information. After you have completed your online registration you will receive a confirmation per e-mail, containing  your personal registration number and all further necessary information for your application. Please use this number in any communication with us.

2 Application for admission: Please note that your online registration helps to accelerate the selection and admission procedure, it is NOT a substitute for the required documents to be sent by air or surface mail to the program coordinator’s office.

Special prerequisites and requirements for DAAD scholarships: Applications from Cameroon, Myanmar and Nigeria must be submitted via the German Embassy. The scholarships available at ZEF funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) are for scholars from developing countries only, primarily for young professionals with at least two years of professional work experience.

When is the annual application deadline?

You may submit your complete application documents at any time, particularly
if you already have a scholarship or if you want to apply for a scholarship
not provided by DAAD. DAAD and other funders have their own deadlines,
so don’t forget to inform yourself accordingly!

ZEF’s Doctoral Studies Program starts on October 1, annually.

Please note that the next application deadline for the DAAD scholarships for the courses starting in October 2015 is: August 31, 2014.
