PHD Positions in Physics (Denmark)

DTU Jobs and CareersDTU Physics invites interested and highly skilled candidates to apply for a number of vacant PhD positions.

The subject of the PhD project must be within one of the main research areas of the department:

  • Atomic scale materials design
  • Biophysics and complex systems
  • Experimental surface and nanomaterials physics
  • Quantum physics and information technology
  • Catalysis for sustainable energy
  • Fusion and Plasma Physics
  • Neutrons and X-rays for materials Physics

Please indicate whether your application is based on a contact with a supervisor with a pre-defined project or if you apply broadly within the activities at DTU Physics.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate has (or expects to obtain no later than 31 August 2013) a master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Nanotechnology or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master’s degree in engineering.

Approval and Enrollment
The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programs of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrollment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.

Salary and appointment terms
Starting date is 1 August 2013 or soon thereafter. The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students. The period of employment is 3 years.
