PhD research fellowship in Medical Sciences- Centre for Molecular Medicine (Norway)
PhD research fellow Cancer Cell Plasticity (Taskén Group)NCMM has an overall objective of facilitating translation of discoveries in basic medical research into clinical practice. NCMM focuses particularly on disease mechanisms where Norway has clear strengths and investigates disease mechanisms in cancer, immune disorders and cardiovascular diseases.
The Tasken group in NCMM investigates the role of anchoring proteins in spatiotemporal regulation of signaling events and signal networks in cancer cells, immune cells, cardiomyocytes and adipocytes. At the moment we are seeking candidates to fill a PhD-fellow position (funded by Norwegian Cancer Society) on a project to characterize the role of signaling complexes regulating cancer cell plasticity and also immune suppression of effector T cells in response to interaction with regulatory T cells. For further information, see http://www.ncmm.uio.no/research/groups/signalling-networks, andhttp://www.biotek.uio.no/english/research/groups/tasken-group/index.html.
PhD candidate:
We seek a highly motivated individual holding a MSc, M.D. or equivalent degree with an interest in doing a PhD in experimental science in an active and international environment. The ideal candidates should have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular cell biology, or tumor biology with a specific interest in studying signaling and regulatory mechanisms in different cancer cell types and immune cells. Experience with flow cytometry, molecular interaction techniques and signaling would be a benefit.
