|Description||The Brandenburg Center for Media Studies (Brandenburgisches Zentrum für Medienwissenschaften, ZeM) is currently in the course of formation as a joint institution of the universities and colleges of Brandenburg. The ZeM aims to stimulate the interconnections in media studies and related disciplines of the region, to increase the visibility of the diverse local activities in media research and teaching, and to develop a distinct profile for Brandenburg as a significant contributor to the field.The ZeM invites submissions for three doctoral scholarships, beginning October 1, 2015. The doctoral scholarships will run for a maximum of three years. Subject to availability of financing, one more scholarship may be awarded.
The proposed projects must be clearly related to one or more of the following research fields: a) media aesthetics and artistic practice; b) media history and cultural memory; c) digitality and materiality of media; d) media narration and media use.
Applicants are requested to submit an outline of their doctoral project (10 pages max), a CV, copies of degree certificates, and a list of publications (if applicable) before August 24, 2015 under the reference number 16/15 by mail as well as e-mail to:

|Requirements||The requirements for an application are a completed master’s degree in media studies or a closely related discipline. The doctoral work should be mainly situated at a university in Brandenburg. Regular participation and active contributions to the events of the ZeM are expected.|
