75% of the fulltime weekly hours, start asap, limited for 30 months. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG).
This research project deals with the design and technology of basic logic circuits in hydrogel-based microfluidic chips. The first step in this project will be the development and characterization of the appropriate active hydrogel components e.g., chemical transistors. The processing of chemical signals that can be achieved with these components will be analyzed. Based on these results basic logic circuits will be built and applied to the control of microfluidic flows. A special interest lies in the question which paradigms from electronic logics can be directly transferred to microfluidics and which have to be modified.
