Postdoc in Resource Optimization of Diagnostic Tests Through Pooling (SMARTPOOL)

National Veterinary Institute DTUApplications are invited from candidates for a two year position as a postdoc at the National Veterinary Institute, within the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities and tasks
The successful applicant will participate in a research project (SMARTPOOL) supported by the Danish AgriFish Agency. The purpose of the project is to optimize pooling of samples in the Danish surveillance programs for cattle diseases.

The postdoc project is an inter-disciplinary position combining epidemiological quantitative methods with diagnostic laboratory work.

Qualifications
The likely candidates hold a PhD degree in epidemiology, virology, or related biomedical sciences. The ideal candidates have documented experience/knowledge of serological tests, quantitative epidemiological methods, biostatistics, and infectious diseases of ruminants. Candidates with a good work ethic and research productivity, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, will be preferred.

A positive attitude and good interpersonal skills are essential.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
