PostDoc in 3-D Vector Velocity Imaging (Denmark)
A six months PostDoc position is available at the Center for Fast Ultrasound Imaging (CFU), DTU Electrical Engineering from October/November 2013. The position is associated with the Advanced Technology Foundation Platform project: “A new platform and business model for on-demand diagnostic ultrasound imaging” made in collaboration between DTU Elektro, BK Medical, DTU Nanotech, Meggitt, the Alexandra Institute, and Rigshospitalet. It has a budget of DKK 15m over the next 5 years.
The platform seeks to develop new advanced ultrasound imaging platforms, which range from scanners-in-the-pocket to high-end three-dimensional consoles along with new cloud based imaging solutions. The platform spans from fabricating new silicon based integrated probes, making interface electronics, devising new imaging schemes, making prototype scanners, implementing novel imaging schemes to conducting clinical trials on the developed prototypes. The research is conducted in a truly multi-disciplinary environment consisting of the major partners from industry, academia and hospitals.
Responsibililties and tasks
The responsibility of the PostDoc is to research advanced 3-D vector velocity methods based on the transverse oscillation approach. The method should be adapted to in-vivo imaging and implemented on the SARUS experimental ultrasound scanner. A pre-clinical trial should be conducted in collaboration with the Department of Radiology, Rigshospitalet.
- Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent
- Candidates should have knowledge about medical ultrasound imaging, signal processing, and implementation on ultrasound research scanners

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The employment period is 6 months.
